Money—Is this what’s on your company’s list?

On every company’s Christmas list we think there would be increased revenue and decreased costs.   A partner needs to be able to impact either or both of these outcomes.   So how does money move?    We all know that to make money, we have to spend money.  It only moves 2 ways – in, or out.  As the pace and complexity of today’s business increases, a partner must rise to the challenge and support clients in the endeavor.  At Accordant we want to truly understand how your business works, know how you make money, and as importantly, what costs you money.  We strive to be a strategic partner that supports helping clients increase revenue and reduce costs.  This is Business Relevance.

As a team, we will identify and implement solutions to help achieve success. Does your “partner” even know what your business is or does?  Do they even know what your mission or objectives are?  Do they know how their technology impacts your business?

accordant-sphere-star-03At Accordant, Business Relevance is a core value and at the root of our focus. Our team is committed to knowing how your money moves. We believe that focus on Business Relevance is a critical component of the 5 Star User Experience you have come to expect from our team.

It’s a Mind-set, an attitude—EXTREME OWNERSHIP

In Simon Sinek’s best selling book, Starting with Why, the mantra is “People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.” Sinek insist that instead of asking “WHAT should we do to compete?” companies must ask, “WHY did we start doing WHAT we ́re doing in the first place, and WHAT can we do to bring our cause to life considering all the technologies and market opportunities available today?” The answers to these questions create Sinek’s Golden Circle– – a WHY is just a belief…HOWs are the actions you take to realize that belief…WHATs are the results of those actions – everything you say and do. At Accordant, we know our Golden Circle and everyone believes in the “why,” understands the “why,” then pursues the “what.” We also know that everyone is a leader. Leadership doesn’t just flow down, but up as well. We must take ownership of everything in our world. That’s what Extreme Ownership is all about…everyone owns it all.

Extreme Ownership is a mind-set, an attitude and one of Accordant’s core values. We believe that focus on Extreme Ownership is a critical component of the 5 Star User Experience you have come to expect from our team.

Thanksgiving Partnership

This Thanksgiving we would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our customers, users, technology partners and employees.   It is our appreciation of these partnerships that keeps us focused on delivering first class secure virtual works spaces and cloud solutions with a 5 Star User Experience.

We value your business and appreciate your confidence in us as well as our Best of Breed Technology Partners—Citrix, Tintri, Carbon Black, Green Cloud and Nutanix.

During this holiday season we will be sharing Accordant’s core values with you. Thanks to your feedback and communication in this marketplace, we have identified our core values and are confident that it is our commitment to these values, which enables us to deliver an unparalleled user experience for you, our partner.  We truly believe that focusing on these areas has created the 5 Star User Experience you have come to expect from our team.

accordant-sphere-star-01Creating partnerships will help us maintain the focus we need to make good decisions and harness the power and commitment we need to weather volatile times. Partnering represents our “capacity to anticipate what customers need even before they know they need it.”

(Results-Based Leadership, Dave Ulrich, Jack Zenger, and Norm Smallwood)  For this reason, Partnership is one of Accordant’s #5StarUX core values.

“Customer partnership is a shared journey to create a future for both parties that is better than either could have developed alone.” There is no doubt that the customer is the foundation of an organization’s success. In today’s turbulent times of rapid and chaotic change, “no force is more grounding and stabilizing than a partnership with customers.” (The 80/20 Principle, Richard Koch)

According to the author of Slow Down, Sell Faster, Kevin Davis,  “A strategic partner helps a company “see the future faster, and in a new and different way.” As your strategic partner, it is our goal to be in it with you, help to mutually develop solutions, know and understand your business goals then turn our knowledge into action on your behalf. You can be confident in the fact that as your strategic partner, we will not attempt a one-size-fits-all approach. Together we will chart your long-term future and focus on transformation, not transactions. Together, we will navigate unexpected currents and course-correct when industry dynamics shift. We will open new doors and help you meet your business challenges.

Again thank you for your partnership.  We wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.  May the joy of the holidays extend to you and your family now and throughout the coming year.

Managing Employee Access Made Easy

Managing employee access to company resources can be a major headache for a business. Whether you’ve just hired someone, are changing their job responsibilities, or are parting ways with them, you’ve got to have all your ducks in a row to ensure the appropriate access and security (and there are plenty of ducks). Utilizing RES Software, Accordant streamlines these complex processes to take the guesswork out for businesses.

When you bring in new employees, you must ensure they have the technology and resources to complete their tasks. This may mean company distributed laptops, phones, tablets and other digital devices. They also need access to specific company files and applications. This process can be complicated, involving multiple interactions between human resources and the IT department. But with RES’s automated on-boarding, the process can be completed by the hiring manager with a few easy steps, and new employees can be productive on day one of the job.

Role Changes
Over the course of an employee’s time with a company, their roles and responsibilities could change multiple times. With these changes, they may need access to different company files and information. RES Software makes these transitions more fluid, as a few clicks will change a current employee’s profile and access quickly and securely.

When someone leaves a company, there are many considerations to take into account. You need to secure data and terminate access to company information. You also need to straighten things out with accounting, HR, and CRM (customer relationship management). Using RES, Accordant takes care of all of these things with the flip of a switch. And your company information will be immediately secured.

How Cloud Technology is Changing Business

Cloud technology is ushering in major changes to the business world. But it’s not just the traditional office that’s being transformed by cloud storage and data management. Here are a few examples of how cloud solutions are being utilized by the retail, banking and healthcare industries to not only cut costs but also improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Real-Time Data
With cloud computing, retailers can track real-time information about customers and what they’re purchasing. This data stored in the cloud can be viewed by anyone in the company who has access. This is also invaluable for tracking and updating inventory, as a company can identify items that go out-of-stock and fulfill customer orders for such items instantaneously.

POS Alternatives
Retailers have long been stood behind counters with computers, printers, and cash registers, establishing a standard, stationary POS system. Cloud solutions can liberate employees from the counter with web-based POS alternatives. Enabling sales on tablets or other light devices can free up employees to walk around and provide superior customer service.

Reduce IT Costs
Banks typically have sizable and complex IT infrastructures that process massive amounts of data. Purchasing and maintaining hardware and software is a costly endeavor requiring time and manpower. Cloud solutions are a no-brainer for banks, as the bank can unload some of their burden on the cloud providers that can host data and update technology with their own infrastructure.

Easier Transactions
Banks facilitate financial transactions across the world. With banking infrastructure centrally stored in the cloud, it’s easier for banks in different countries to exchange information and make transactions without any delays from dealing with differences in hardware.

Medical Imaging Storage
Internal data storage centers are on the decline, as many health care facilities are turning to the cloud to house medical images. The cost of archiving all medical images in house is becoming prohibitive, as it requires significant investments in hardware and software as well as space and employee upkeep.

Improved Care and Communication
Healthcare providers can use data stored in the cloud to provide patients the best possible care. Being able to pull up a patient’s clinical data in real-time at the touch of a finger enables healthcare professionals to provide better, more specialized care for patients.

The Life Cycle of an Employee

The Life Cycle of an Employee
Employees all follow a similar life cycle, some longer than others, but none are unique. Employees are hired, their access changes over their tenure, and then they leave your company. In each of those three phases, technology and access is given to each of your employees, and Accordant makes this an easy process for companies both large and small by utilizing RES Software. Let’s look at the Life Cycle of an Employee.

An employee is hired and they are given the tools to successfully complete their daily tasks. That includes phones, tablets and laptops, as well as access to applications that are housed on their computers or dashboards in the cloud.

Access Management:
During an employee’s time with a company, they are often given new responsibilities and even new roles, and with every change comes the need for new access. With RES software, Accordant can manage secure access to approved applications and services by leveraging profile management and IT automation to identify the user and their context, and allow them to request and consume IT services on-demand.

When an employee leaves a company, the need to take away access to data, secure information and systems, as well as devices, is often needed quickly. Accordant can take away access and keep your company information secure with RES Software almost immediately.

Cloud Computing Made Simple

In the IT world, we say words and phrases like cloud computing, virtual servers and hosting daily, and sometimes forget that not everyone uses such terms as casually as we do. It’s not only great to understand what these terms mean, but also understand how they can make your business run more efficiently. Accordant provides cloud services and hosting, as well as virtual server access through Green Cloud Technologies. Let’s take a look at the details of each service:

Cloud Services Basics
Before cloud services or cloud computing, all of a computer’s hardware and software was sitting on a desktop or inside a company network, meaning you could only access it inside the four walls of the company. Now, with cloud services, computer hardware and software can be accessed over the Internet, as it lives in the cloud, meaning you can access things like email, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, from any device, any place, at any time. If it’s a program that lives on your desktop, laptop or an online dashboard like a CRM tool, it doesn’t’t matter, it’s all accessible remotely.

What is Cloud Hosting?
Hosting of a website or platform can be provided through a few different means. You can purchase a server and host it on that server, you can buy space on a company’s service for a fee, or you can now use Cloud Hosting. Cloud hosting can host a multitude of platforms in the cloud or on a virtual servers. So what was once only used for websites, now, can be for all platforms.

This Brings Us to Virtual Servers
A virtual server is how we give our customers access to their stored files, CPU, memory, network bandwidth and connectivity to applications remotely. Virtual servers are secure and scalable, so as you need more space, you can get it. Virtual servers are the compilation of cloud services and cloud hosting, and make cloud-based applications, your website and workflow and project management dashboards accessible from anywhere, making your data available and better yet, secure.

Accordant and Citrix Make Your Business Mobile

Accordant Technology is proud to announce we have reached Gold partner status as a Citrix Solutions Provider. Accordant is the only gold partner based in Tennessee.
“Making the move from a Silver to Gold partner is a reflection of our commitment to Citrix by way of revenue and continued education for our staff, ensuring we are always working to receive new technical certifications with the software provider’” said Tim Tyler, President, Accordant Technology.

What is a Gold Partner?
Being a Gold partner allows Accordant to bring more value to the market as our Citrix knowledge and working experience continues to grow. This is very important to us as this status does not simply state that mean that our team can sell Citrix products, it means that our team can provide Citrix professional services along with those products, and that is something we take very seriously.

So why Citrix?
Accordant is a professional IT service provider, and it is our choice as to which IT solutions we sell to our clients. We choose to sell and service Citrix because we believe it to the be absolute best of class for desktop and mobility virtualization. No matter if you compare Citrix to its competitors based on performance, scalability or cost, we think they are superior.

Citrix allows Accordant to help our clients balance their work and personal time. We live in a mobile world, and people demand access to anything from anywhere in order to work and live better.  Citrix is a catalyst to mobility as it allows people to be productive while achieving work/life balance. This helps our clients recruit and maintain top talent by being flexible, mobile and current.

Mobile workspaces are not the future, they are here. Let Accordant and Citrix make your mobile experience seamless.

Advances in technology have taken the workplace to levels most of us never imagined possible. And with changes happening on an almost daily basis, it’s important to have an IT provider that keeps your company ahead of your competitors. So, what’s happening in technology in 2015? We can expect to see:
Small Businesses and Cloud Technology
Small businesses are increasingly utilizing Cloud solutions instead of investing in office hardware and purchasing software. Companies are developing office infrastructure on the cloud which cuts costs and makes the workplace accessible remotely.
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)
With workplace software and data accessible via Cloud, offices are becoming more flexible with where and how employees work. BYOD policies, which allow employees to use their personal mobile devices, will continue to evolve, as companies save on the purchase of expensive office machines.
Wearable Technology
Fitness bands, smart watches and activity trackers will continue to proliferate in 2015. We’ll also see smart jewelry, wearable cameras (move over, Selfie Stick), and more companies attempting smart glasses and eye ware — the demise of Google Glass is not stopping anyone.
Mobile Payment
With the launch of Apple Pay in October 2014, the mobile wallet race is underway. According to Emazzanti Technologies, “More than 20% of worldwide payment transactions are made with a mobile device.” Look for competitors such as Google Wallet and Paypal to up their mobile payment capabilities.
Demand for Internet Anonymity
Though the failures of “anonymous” apps and social media services such as Whisper and Snapchat were well publicized in 2014, developers will continue to create more secure networks and messaging services in 2015. The demand for anonymous communication and behavior on the internet is still great, given the “identity fatigue” many feel from dealing with traditional social networks.
